The Strand Downtown Huntington Beach Opened 5/16/09
The Strand officially opened on
Saturday, May 16, 2009. A rock band played, officials
made speeches, tours of the commons area of the
Shorebreak Hotel were conducted, and across the street
overlooking the Huntington Beach Pier, the Duck-a-Thon
annual event was in full swing. A fitting welcoming to
the city was offered by Shirley Dettloff, mayor of
Huntington Beach during the time that The Strand
development plans were being scrutinized.
The Strand was developed and
constructed in the 5th block of Huntington Beach and
Pacific Coast Highway by CIM Group, Inc. Known for
investing in urban communities, a parking garage to the
project opened in 2008, and the office, retail and hotel
space opened in 2008 and 2009.
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - CIM Group has opened a new
